This is not a small thing. The fear is real, and it stops countless people from getting the help they genuinely need. It keeps pilots from talking about anxiety, officers from addressing trauma, and nurses from acknowledging burnout — all because the system that is supposed to help them can also harm them professionally if they're not careful.
At Restoring Hope Ministries, we've thought carefully about this. We offer a pathway designed for exactly this situation — where you can receive real, substantive, professional care without a formal diagnosis being necessary, without insurance involvement, and without your employer or licensing board ever needing to know.

They understand that the DSM-5-TR is a helpful tool for structuring care — but it does not define a person, and it is not always necessary. Their approach is thoughtful, human, and grounded in the belief that people are more than their symptoms.
Jeff Gross
Jeff brings clinical training alongside a deep commitment to faith-integrated care. His approach honors the complexity of the human experience — meeting people in their most honest moments with wisdom, compassion, and clinical competence.
Mark
Mark's background bridges pastoral ministry and clinical understanding. He is skilled at walking with individuals navigating the intersection of professional pressures, personal struggle, and spiritual longing — without reducing any of it to a diagnostic code.
A note on the DSM-5-TR: While the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual is a valuable framework for understanding and structuring care, Jeff and Mark approach it as a tool — not a label. A diagnosis is not necessary unless you choose to use insurance. We are happy to care for you without one.

About Out-of-Network Insurance Submission
If you have insurance and would like to seek reimbursement, RHM's licensed providers can supply clinical documentation (superbills or session notes) that you may submit directly to your insurance company as an out-of-network claim. You decide whether and when to submit. A diagnosis code is typically required for insurance processing — but that decision remains entirely in your hands, not ours.

Your Legal Protections
Under federal law, you have significant protections. Most people with health conditions are not automatically excluded from any job. Here is what the law says:
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Employers with 15 or more employees cannot discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities unless the condition poses a direct, documented threat that cannot be mitigated through reasonable accommodation. Most conditions are covered.
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Eligible employees are protected from adverse employment actions due to medical conditions. You may take leave for serious health conditions without fear of losing your job under qualifying circumstances.
