What is Clinical Mental Health Counseling?

Clinical mental health counseling is a professional, licensed discipline focused on diagnosing and treating mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Our licensed counselors provide individualized assessment, evidence-based treatment, and ongoing support to help people move from struggle to stability and flourishing.

At Restoring Hope Ministries, clinical care is delivered within a framework that honors the whole person — their psychological, relational, and spiritual dimensions. You don't have to choose between professional clinical excellence and care that respects your faith.

Whether you're dealing with a specific diagnosis, navigating a crisis, or simply feeling stuck, our clinicians provide the structured, professional support needed to help you move forward.

Our Therapeutic Approaches

We draw from multiple evidence-based modalities to provide the most effective treatment for each individual.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Explores the unconscious roots of emotional struggles, patterns, and relational dynamics to bring lasting insight and healing.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Examines how past experiences and unconscious processes shape current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in everyday life.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Helps clients access, understand, and transform core emotional experiences to foster resilience and healthier relationships.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Works with the inner 'parts' of the self — including protective and wounded parts — to cultivate self-compassion and integration.

Somatic Therapies

Addresses the mind-body connection by working with physical sensations and nervous system responses to release stored trauma and stress.

Logotherapy

Developed by Viktor Frankl, this meaning-centered approach helps individuals find purpose and direction even in the midst of suffering.

Trauma-Focused Therapy

Evidence-based approaches to processing and healing from traumatic experiences in a safe, structured environment.

Faith-Sensitive Integration

For clients who desire it, faith and spiritual values can be meaningfully integrated into the therapeutic process.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

— Psalm 147:3

At Restoring Hope Ministries, clinical care and faith are not in competition — they are complementary. Our licensed clinicians are committed to professional excellence while remaining deeply grounded in a biblical understanding of human dignity, healing, and hope.

Faith integration in therapy is always client-led and never imposed.

Important Notice: Insurance & Billing

Please read before requesting services

Insurance credentialing is currently in process and has not yet been completed. At this time, RHM is not able to bill insurance directly on your behalf.

If you wish to seek reimbursement through your insurance provider, we can provide you with detailed session notes (a "superbill") that you may submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. This is sometimes referred to as "out-of-network" reimbursement — please check with your provider to understand your specific benefits.

What this means for your care:

  • In order to submit for insurance reimbursement, RHM will need to provide a clinical diagnosis as required by insurance standards.
  • Clinical services also require a formal treatment plan. These are distinct from the transformation plans used within biblical counseling — clinical treatment plans are client-centered and structured to meet the requirements of licensed mental health care.
  • If you plan to submit sessions for reimbursement, please be aware that insurance providers may influence the nature, scope, and direction of treatment under their coverage policies. This is a real consideration and may impact some aspects of your care.
  • Clients who choose to pay privately (without insurance) retain the greatest flexibility in the therapeutic process and are not subject to insurance-driven treatment requirements.

We want you to make a fully informed decision. If you have questions about billing, diagnosis, or how insurance may affect your care, please don't hesitate to ask us before beginning services.

Care That Is Measured — Because People Are What Matter

Restoring Hope Ministries tracks the well-being of every participant in our clinical and faith-based services using empirically validated screeners, clinical interviews, behavioral analysis, and self-report — so we can honestly see whether the people we serve are getting better. This rigor reflects the training of our founder, Dr. Gross, whose clinical psychology education and practical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin prepared him for this type of organization and care.
